About Us
The National Association of Hispanic Nurses, Western Massachusetts Chapter, was founded in October of 2013 by five registered nurses, Ruth Amador, MSN, RN, Jackie Rodriquez, MSN, AGACNP-BC, Olga Figueroa, MSN, PMHNP-BC, Yanira Torres, BSN, RN, and Marilyn Montanez, BSN, RN. The Western Massachusetts natives saw the need to promote the mission of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses by providing a forum to empower Hispanic nurses to improve the health and well-being of individuals, groups and communities by the use of action based, culturally sensitive, evidenced based nursing practices. Elms College pledged to be the sponsoring school, allowing the professional nursing organization to begin their commitment to be a voice of advocacy, collaboration and educational advancement for Hispanic Nurses.
