Founder's Welcome

Ruth Amador, MSN, RN

President 2013-2021

Welcome to the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, Western Massachusetts Chapter website. The National Association of Hispanic Nurses is dedicated to growing its membership in order to fulfill local, state, and national healthcare initiatives.

Our vision is that each member will incorporate the fundamentals of leadership into his/her professional development. NAHN-WMASS takes pride with promoting mentoring and leadership development. Embracing individual and organizational leadership allows for the advocacy to promote culturally competent care in Western Massachusetts.

NAHN-WMASS has shown commitment to leadership by actively seeking out opportunities that have fostered collaborative relationships, supported educational advancement in academia and clinical practice, and promoted individual, as well as organizational leadership. Members of NAHN-WMASS have championed their commitment to community and academia by giving back in scholarships, memberships, student sponsorships to the National Association of Hispanic

Nurses Annual Conference, mentoring support to first generation Hispanic nursing students, and many events to promote positive individual and community healthcare outcomes.

As NAHN-WMASS continues to give back to the community, we acknowledge that without commitment and dedicated leadership, the organization would not be able to achieve and celebrate successes. The leadership qualities that the members of NAHN-WMASS possess are an asset to the organization and a blessing to the nursing profession, the community, and the individuals we serve. Our efforts to improve the healthcare status of Western Massachusetts, is a true testimony to the power of collaborative relationships and its impact on community.

Best Regards,
